All About Me
Happy New Year! Welcome back to a new term at Handsworth Nursery. We wold like to thank you for your kind words and generous gifts at Christmas. We hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday and are now ready for the coming weeks. We are sure this will be a busy and exciting term and we are looking forward to exploring our topic this half term of ‘All about Me’
We would love it if you could provide your child with a photo of when they were a baby. Please ensure that it is named and ideally is in an envelope.
We will be naming the different parts of our bodies both outside and in. We will be thinking about how we change as we grow up and will be observing the similarities and differences between ourselves.
We will continue to learn new letter sounds, we will now look at two new letters a week. It is important that you emphasise the letter sound rather than the letter name.
In mathematics we will be continuing to count in order, count objects carefully and recognise numbers. We will be comparing groups of objects. We will be continuing to look at flat shapes and solid shapes.
Book Bags
We are, at last, going to start our library lending. If your child does not have a book bag these can be purchased from the uniform shop for £4. Unfortunately if your child does not have a book bag we will be unable to lend them a book.
Winter Weather
We will go outside in all weathers and would appreciate it if your child had appropriate named clothing.
A big thank you to you for your £1 voluntary contributions, this is enabling us to purchase those extras needed.
