Friends of Handsworth is comprised of parents and carers who voluntarily organise events and fund-raising activities for the school. Our purpose is to raise money to support projects that benefit the children of Handsworth Primary.
We sponsor fun annual events like the visits from Father Christmas and Easter Bunny, School Discos, activity days and so on. We also support large, one-off projects as requested by the school. Furthermore, we proudly sponsor the year 6 leavers hoodies, book and pen which the children cherish and genuinely appreciate.
Some of the fund-raising events we run include Quiz Nights, the Christmas Market, a Pamper Evening and of course the School Fete. We also hold a Tea & Cake sale at the end of every term which is quite popular with students, staff and parents/carers alike. Each event we do requires volunteers to organise and run. Even just one hour of your time would make a very big difference in what we can do to benefit the children at the school. Volunteers are always desperately needed.
Time is precious to all of us, so we try to meet only once per term to plan and organise the upcoming events. We communicate large via a Committee What'sApp group. We will advertise these meetings on the school website and via posters on noticeboards. You are most welcome to attend any of these meetings and/or join the What'sApp group to stay in the loop. Even the smallest bit of help is greatly appreciated.
If you would like to get more involved with FOH, we'd love to hear from you. You can contribute as much or as little of your time and talents as suits your schedule. Contact Katherine Bromley at firstname.lastname@example.org or 07989 303 163 if you would like to offer your help with a FOH activity or even take the lead on organising a fundraising event! Many hands, makes light work.
