Shaking Up Shakespeare - Behind the Scenes

29 Mar 2015

Hello,

Another photo and another recollection from the recent performance.

I enjoyed taking part in Shaking Up Shakespeare because it was something I had never done before. In the play I was the porter and also played a large part in the "Horse Insurance" advert. When I found out my role I wasn't sure that me my group would be able to remember all our lines but as we became more familiar with the script we were more confident it would go well.

Before the afternoon performance to Key Stage Two I was slightly nervous because I'm not used to being on stage. When I was on I realised it was easier than I imagined but I would have hoped for the advert to go better because my lines were drowned out by laughing (is that a good thing?)

By the time of the evening performance I was no longer nervous and I was glad to be performing infront of a more mature audience. I remembered my lines and there were some laughs (this time they didn't drown me out) for the advert.

It all went well in the end and I would like to thank Anthony for his work with us and for helping me to understand Macbeth and Shakespeare more than I did before.

Harry.
