Chloe McKay
As a working parent, I often feel that I miss out on a lot of opportunities to take part in and contribute to the school community and so becoming a school governor would provide the perfect opportunity for me to get to know the school better and at the same time use my own skills and experience to contribute to its ongoing development. As a Children’s Centre Manager, Early Years Teacher and with a BA Hons. in Education I feel that my transferable skills are a perfect fit for the role of  School Governor.”

I want to be a governor because I believe I can add value to the school through my ICT knowledge and the experience I have gained working in the education sector for more than 20 years.  I am a specialist ICT lecturer and if elected would help the school engage more with technology. I also have 20 years’ experience working with community organisations at a management level and would value the opportunity to work with the other governors to support the school.  I am married and have two sons, who are in Reception and Year 4 at the school.

I am a stay at home mum with two children at Handsworth School. Since 2012, I have worked with charities and local authorities throughout Waltham Forest. I have extensive experience in fundraising, performance management, policy development and a proven track record in successfully securing grants on behalf of vulnerable families, and community groups. Between 2014 and 2015, I was Vice-Chair for the Highams Park Planning Group, seeking ways to improve facilities for local children.  I am actively involved within the local community; co-coordinating events and volunteering at Handsworth’s summer fetes. I am enthusiastic and dedicated to improving opportunities for children.

I would like to be elected to the role of Parent Governor at Handsworth Primary School. I am civil servant father of a six year old currently in Year 1 who works as project officer in the Project Management Office within the business and Strategy directorate at the Human Fecundation and Embryology Authority.  I am currently finishing an Executive Master in Public Administration, I have gained during the last two academic years theoretical knowledge in governance, strategy, public policies, consultancy and change management. I also have a professional background in project management, marketing and telecommunication.  I am confident my education as well as my personnel and professional experiences, could benefit Handsworth Primary School, by working in collaboration with the governing body for the bright future of our students.
